Michael Quan
B.Sc., DC (Chiropractor)
Dr. Quan's medical background stems from four years at York University followed by four years at New York Chiropractic College (NYCC), where he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic.
He gained valuable experience at NYCC ranging from pediatrics to elite athletic performance at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center. Dr. Quan is a member with good standing in the Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) and Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) and is licensed in both Canada and the United States.
Dr Quan’s philosophy is wellness-based and is centered upon improving patients’ quality of life. He specializes in spinal and joint manipulation coupled with various soft tissue techniques to regain optimal function.

Danielle Ufniak
MSc. PT, CSCS (Physiotherapist)
Danielle’s passion for physiotherapy began during her undergraduate program at the University of Waterloo. As a marathon runner, Ironman triathlete, and fitness competitor, Danielle has experienced both chronic and acute injuries and realized the benefits of physiotherapy rehabilitation firsthand.
Danielle is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto Masters of Physical Therapy program. She focuses on injury prevention, rehabilitation, evidence-based exercises, and neuromuscular re-education. Danielle specializes in Neuroproprioceptive Taping (K-Tape), Soft Tissue Release (STR), and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialization (CSCS).
Danielle employs a holistic approach in assessing, treating and training her clients. She understands that no two people, nor two injuries are the same and all rehabilitation and training must be unique to that individual. Her goal is to help people reach their full potential in sports and daily functional mobility through proactive and reactive injury management.

Yamini Mistry
B.Sc. (Hons.Kin), MScPT (Physiotherapist)
Yamini graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters in Physical Therapy (MScPT). She has experience with various conditions ranging from the orthopedic to neurological conditions to sport injuries. Yamini got into the Physiotherapy profession because of her passion for getting people back on their feet and to their regular activities after an injury. She believes in the multidisciplinary team based approach for getting people better faster!
Yamini has taken various orthopedic courses and is currently pursuing her certification in Manual Therapy. She is also an ergonomics specialist assisting with safe return to work for her clients.
Outside of the clinic, Yamini also maintains an active lifestyle by playing basketball and volleyball weekly, and also enjoys trying new and different cuisines from around the world.

Michelle Gasparotto
RHN, RNCP, ROHP (Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner, Certified FirstLine Therapy Lifestyle Coach)
Michelle has expertise in sports nutrition, nutrition therapy for weight management, diabetes, digestive disorders, inflammatory diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
In addition to being the nutritionist at ActiveLife Rehab, Michelle is in private practice at the Centre for Advanced Medicine in Whitby. She also is the nutritionist for the Durham Region Soccer Association’s District Program.
Michelle teaches the 2nd year nutrition course in the Fitness and Health Promotions program at Centennial College. She has a passion for speaking about health for numerous organizations, both corporate and not-for-profit.
Michelle recognizes that poor nutrition is the major cause of a wide variety of health problems. She works closely with her clients to identify and help correct the nutritional causes of imbalances within the body. After careful analysis of her client's needs and lifestyle, she personalizes programs that are designed to optimize health. Michelle has a passion for educating and motivating her clients so they can enjoy the long lasting effects of living a healthy lifestyle.

Chris Cheung
M.Sc., DC (Chiropractor & Medical Acupuncture Provider)
Dr. Cheung's fascination with health and movement led him to pursue a Master of Science in Kinesiology from York University followed by four years of study at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic.
Dr. Cheung has had the opportunity to work within the Athletic Performance Lab at York University assessing the occupational fitness of firefighters and police officer candidates. He was also part of the assessment team during the 2007 NHL Combine Entry Draft. In practice, Dr. Cheung utilizes a variety of techniques including manipulation/mobilizations of the spine and extremities, clinical acupuncture, Active Release Techniques (ART), instrument assisted soft tissue mobilizations and rehab exercises to promote healing and improved function.
Dr. Cheung is focused on functional outcomes of care that are improtant to the patient and seeks to improve the wellness of each patient as a whole being. Whether you are recovering from an injury or want to ensure great mobility in your later years, his approach will be tailored for you.

Matthew Leech
MSc, CAT(C), CSCS (Athletic Therapist)
Matthew is our team athletic therapist and strength and conditioning coach. He is also the athletic therapist for the Oshawa Generals. Matt was fortunate enough to work as the Therapist for Hockey Canada's National Under-17 Team at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
Matt attended York University where he completed his BSc Specialized Honours Kinesiology and Health Science and his graduate certificate in Athletic Therapy. He also has a Masters of Science in Physical Education.
He is a Certified Athletic Therapist, National Strength and Conditioning Association - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has additional training in soft tissue release, advanced assessment and mobilizations.
His specialty is shoulder assessment and rehab, concussion management and is our product specialist. He has extensive experience working with and training elite level athletes as well as your weekend warriors. He's your go to guy if you enjoy being active or want to get to the next level.

Tanya Bissonnette
PTA (Physiotherapist Assistant)
Tanya graduated with honours from Trios College in April 2010. Following graduation, she has excelled in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment helping patients reach their health goals. Tanya is passionate about encouraging a healthy lifestyle after losing over 100 pounds in the last two years. She believes that "you need to take care of your body; it's the only place you have to live". Her goal is to inspire and to be inspired by everyone she treats and to provide you with the optimal health experience.
Tanya's recipe for success is inspiration, determination and a positive attitude. Whether you are looking for acute rehabilitation or an outstanding clinical conditioning session, she is here for you.

Francis Fernandes
RMT (Massage Therapist)
Francis has been practicing since of 2009, and is a graduate from Centennial College. Hisexperience within a clinical setting is invaluable in enhancing your true potential within the realm of soft tissue injuries with therapeutic massage treatments. Francis' advanced knowledge of the body's biomechanics with the use of Swedish massage techniques, Myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations and stretching will have you on your way to a speedy recovery.

Julie Marshall
RMT (Massage Therapist)
Julie is a Registered Massage Therapist that has worked in a multidisciplinary health and wellness setting since 1998. She began her career as a Receptionist and has worked as a Physiotherapy Assistant and a Certified Functional Abilities Evaluator.
Julie graduated from Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic where she was recognized for her innovative treatments of patients with Parkinson's. She currently applies techniques such as neuromuscular integration and structural alignment, graded peripheral joint mobilization, deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy. Julie believes that each treatment plan is unique and that a holistic approach to health and wellness always yields the best results.

Ashley Kerswill
RMT (Massage Therapist)
Ashley received her certification at Wellsprings College of Massage Therapy and Aesthetics. She has been practicing for three years, primarily working in a multidisciplinary clinical setting. Clients ranging from those in motor vehicle accidents, work related injuries, sports related injuries, concussions, and prenatal massage. Her background in therapeutic spa treatments allows a peaceful relaxation massage that aids in reducing stress levels.
Ashley also has her Yoga Teacher Certification which has complimented her massage therapy practice immensely by interweaving principles based in both massage therapy practices and yoga. By being mindful in her approach to reducing stress levels through her understanding of physical movement and anatomy, optimum health and life balance can be achieved.
